Op de universiteitscampus in Bocholt ondersteunt de Otto Spaleck Stichting een educatief pad over het onderwerp bionica. Op een gezinsvriendelijke manier wordt uitgelegd war deze wetenschap inhoudt.<\/p>

In de bionica worden verschijnselen uit de natuur overgrbracht naar de techniek en bruikbaar gemaakt. Voorbeelden hiervan zijn het lotuseffect, dat gaat over zelfreinigende oppervlakken, de unieke, verkoelende structuur van de bladeren van de gingkoboom, de ongelooflijk stabiele lichtgewicht constructie van verschillende dierenbotten of de bewegingsreacties van visvinnen.<\/p>

Het idee van bionicaprofessor Heike Beismann viel al snel in goede aarde bij de Otto Spaleck Stichting. In samenwerking met de textielfabrik LWL in Bocholt, de illustrator Michael Tewiele en de studente Sophie Dagenbach werd een interessant pad gecreeerd dat in de toekomst zal worden uitgebreid tot een circuit rond de iniversiteit.<\/p>
