On 8 May, the second ‘Night of the Wings’ took place at the Bocholt campus of Westfälische Hochschule – the central network meeting of the Industrial Engineering and Management degree programme. The event offered exciting insights into projects from research and teaching and, above all, served to promote dialogue between students, alumni and regional companies.
In short keynote speeches, students presented practical projects and current research approaches. Participants took the opportunity to make contacts and discover concrete points of contact for cooperation between the university and industry.
The Otto Spaleck Foundation supported the event as a sponsor and presented the award for the best Master’s thesis in industrial engineering. Gavin Neuß was honoured for his thesis ‘Status quo of ergonomic working conditions in manufacturing companies in Westmünsterland – a pilot study’.
In his work, Mr Neuß developed a standardised procedure for surveying ergonomic conditions in companies. The methodical preparation and the interdisciplinary approach make his study an important contribution to practice and future research.
The Otto Spaleck Foundation congratulates Mr Neuß on this outstanding achievement and is delighted to be able to support young talents in their development.
